Ros.

I had a family member make a stupid mistake and got disabled as well. Google refuses to listen to my appeal. I have 2 questions.

Is there any way I could sign up again for Adsense with a tax id number? .. I was using my SSN on my first account. Do you recommend this?

And also what is your NUMBER 1 pick out of your list of alternatives?

Thanks Roz
Jerry Wipf

Hey Jerry,

Actually, I don't know that I would try to bamboozle Google with the tax id as opposed to the SSN. I'd prefer to set things straight with them.

Failing that, get that family member to sign up for a new account and use it on a different site?

As for my favorite alternatives... I like Casale, then Chitika for its display.

Hope that helps a little.

Cheers,
Ros

I got the pink slip! I really appreciate your alternatives list, Ros, very timely - I have devoured it!

The pink slip is quite drastic. Google replaced all my Adsense banners with "YOU ARE NOT AUTHORISED TO VIEW THIS SITE" statements. They have also taken my hard-earned $50 Adsense revenue and given it to advertisers. I have had to spend hours removing the Adsense ads from my blogs and web pages.

I have appealed the decision as I was not engaged in illegal clicking, etc. - I just targeted a very small network with highly relevant info. Google, however, has indicated that they can choose to evaluate or ignore my appeal at their leisure. They have also said thay cannot give the specific grounds for disablement of my account, thus diempowering my appeal anyway!

I have learnt a few things out of this:

1. don't rely on a single advertiser such as Google particulary if they are as draconian and haughty as Google appears to be

2. you can improve the quality of contextual ads on your blog by making mulitple postings on the one specific topic, as I did with this niche blog dedicated to helping teachers:
Online Learning and Teaching Blog

3. there are better options than Google out there for some of my blogs, e.g.
Affiliate Sensor

(I can even promote your Super Affiliate Handbook, Ros, with this one!)

4. there are some very ethical advertisers - Claxon, for example, as you recommend Ros (I think they are implicitly comparing themselves with Google in their philospohy statement).

Thanks again, Ros.

Hi Ron,

eee-Yikes! What a drag! I hope you get that decision reversed... and find an HTML program where you can use a 'global change' feature to make those kind of changes to your site fast. Then all you have to do is upload the pages.

Best of success with the alternatives.

Cheers,
Ros
