Amazon Pays Referral Fees on Gift Certificates

I learned this morning that Amazon.com Associates are now eligible to earn referral fees on Amazon.com Gift Certificates which are the perfect last minute gift. They are redeemable on a huge range of Amazon’s products and are easy to send via email, an e-card or through regular mail.

Referrals from Amazon Gift Certificates will earn a flat 6% referral rate. Affiliates will still earn the 6% referral fee even if visitors click on a product they are promoting and buy a Gift Certificate instead.

Two downsides – Gift certificates will not count toward unit tiers and the promotion lasts only through December 31, 2006.
