Aoccdrnig to rscheearch…

In an earlier post about article writing, at the end I wrote:

“The Finer Points – Grammar and spelling do count. Mispelled words and terrible grammar make readers pause and question an author’s credibility. When in doubt, use a spellchecker.”

Well, apparently, that is not the case.

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by itslef but the wrod as a wlohe.

Hmm… looks like there’s hope for us yet! :-)

Cheers,
Ros

    Hi Ros,

Is a URI (see above) anything like a URL?!

I would also like to know whether this post is the sober or non sober version!! By the way,it looks to me like you’ve misspelled…misspelled
    would you believe!

    Hello Chris,

To answer your first question… yes.

In answer to your second question – yes, I’d believe. And sorry to dash whatever illusions some may have, but for all the talk, it’s hard to get drunk on just one. :-)

    Cheers,
    Ros
