Friday’s Oprah show introduced Bono’s (PRODUCT) RED™ project which will finance programs that help women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa through the Global Fund – the world’s leading funder of programs to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, which kill over 6 million people per year.
You can help promote the project and maybe make a few bucks in the process…
Bono partnered with Gap, Armani, Converse, Motorola and Apple, and each company is giving a portion of the proceeds from a limited number of products to the Global Fund.
For example, Gap produced a new, limited collection of clothing and accessories for men and women. Fully half of the profits from sales of the Gap (PRODUCT) RED™ Collection will go to The Global Fund. The iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED™Special Edition holds up to 1,000 songs, 25,000 photos and $10 from every iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED™sold goes directly to the Global Fund.
Because Oprah endorsed the project (she bought a TON of stuff from the various (PRODUCT) RED™ collections during the show as she and Bono shopped their way up the Magnificent Mile in Chicago – I especially liked those Armani sunglasses that she ended up giving away on the street in front of the store
), you KNOW that (PRODUCT) RED™ products are gonna be BIG this holiday season!
The Gap’s affiliate program (offered through CJ) pays 4%. Apple’s affiliate program (through Linkshare) pays 0-2% on selected goods.
Although sales of these products may not be commissionable, promote them anyway. It’s a great cause, it’ll make you feel great and you may drive some traffic by talking about the project in your blog.
