Building Sites for Google Adsense

Building huge sites fast that make money from Google Adsense without doing the “hard work” of creating your own content or writing a newsletter can be a very tempting proposition.

I know a number of webmasters who concentrate the bulk of their efforts on building Adsense sites, and are earning nice incomes in the process.

The sites are relatively easy to build.

  1. In a nutshell, webmasters use Wordtracker to find a high-demand, low-competition niche and create a huge list of relevant keywords and keyword phrases.
  2. A domain name with the primary keyword in the URL is purchased, the site is uploaded to the server and submitted to the engines.
  3. Next, they create a simple template for their pages that includes the maximum number of allowable Google Adsense displays. The template is set up so that the Title, Description and Keyword Meta Tags reflect the keyword/phrase for that page.
  4. Using page building software like Traffic Equalizer pages can be built around each keyword on the list in a matter of moments.
  5. Article scrapers like Article Equalizer are used to pull articles on topics relevant to the niche from article directory sites into the template. Alternatively, some webmasters contract with writers at Elance to provide them with content.
  6. Because the engines can take anywhere between three and eight months to list a site, the biggest effort with Adsense sites is made in obtaining reciprocal links for these sites. However, some (smarter) webmasters use Google Adwords to send traffic to their Adsense sites to start earning faster.

So far so good.

However, the main problem with building “Adsense sites” lies in the fact that Google has rules for placement of its ads.

Breaking those rules will result in getting your site banned from Google and your Adsense account terminated.

Here are the two Google ad placement rules which speak specifically to this issue.

  • No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages.
  • No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant.

Therefore, the site must demonstrate a reason for being over and above the purpose for showing Adsense ads.

To create purpose, consider adding:

  • An RSS, blog or news feed.
  • Affiliate links.
  • A 7-part ecourse.
  • Amazon or eBay keyword-specific content links.
  • A survey or other interactive software that encourages visitor participation.

Although Google is very secretive about its payouts on Adsense accounts, we know that it’s relatively easy for a big “Adsense site” to earn $100 – 300 per month.

You can imagine how lucrative it is when you have 100, or even 1000 of these sites!

That’s a very cursory explanation of how to build Adsense sites.

It doesn’t constitute my acceptance of them. I still abhor landing on them, and rather than rewarding the webmasters of such sites by clicking on the Adsense links, I always “Back” out “X” out of them.

I’d rather build one ‘value’ site per year, than get carpal tunnel syndrome putting up 50 or 500 Adsense sites.
