Hey all,

It’s Kelvin here from Build A Niche Store. First off thanks for a great review Rosalind

I just wanted to make a quick post re Beth’s comments about custom navigations. The way the script currently works is that you enter one of eBay’s 28,926 category numbers into your store setup file and Build A Niche Store will automatically return to you a fully functional store which contains all of the products inside that category and all of the sub-navigation (which you see on eBay).

Now, many BANS users are going beyond this standard navigation to open up access to more products inside their store and to give their stores more keyword targeted content pages for the search engines. This involves replacing the standard navigation (or adding to it) with a set of manual links which link to the particular products you DO want to promote.

The manual walks you through making this change and we have just set up a sticky post in the members forum which covers it in more detail.

If you have any questions about the flexibility of the script, be that extending a navigation, going “deep” in eBay or building a store which “cross-cuts” several different eBay categories then drop us a quick note through our Contact Us form (located on the left side of the BANS homepage) and I’ll explain how you can do what you want to do in more depth.

I forwarded your comment to Kelvin, and he’s more than happy to help you (and anyone else) out who might be having an issue.

I’m sure that you’ll discover that it’s a really minor tweak.

Don’t forget to ask him what he did, so that you can replicate the process on other sites, or other parts of your site.

Hi Rosalind, I recently heard of BANS myself and I absolutely love this idea!!! I’ve been selling on eBay for a few years now and recently decided to also become an Affiliate Marketer. I had ordered your Affiliate Handbook a while back and was in the middle of studying it when I heard about BANS. I am also in the middle of having my website designed. So I feel like it was all meant to be.

I ordered his program today and as soon as my website is finished, I’m ready to go. I respect your opinion and I am so glad to hear that you like this idea/concept also. Can’t wait to see how it goes. Thanks again! Michele

I’ve purchased BANS and agree that it is a very neat software. However, I think they have a ways to go before they really unlock the power. Right now it is v-e-r-y easy to set up a basic store with basic navigation such as you have on your travel blog. But customized store menus and navigation that is more than the simple huge catagories such as “Luggage” is much more difficult. I know cause I’m hitting my head against the wall with it right now.
