PPC Classroom Live StudentsOK… I’m awake now.

After spending the weekend in Vegas at Anik Singal’s 2-day PPC Classroom LIVE seminar which included a few late nights as well as a few travel challenges and delays — I was totally wasted.

Maybe I’m getting too old to try and keep up with ‘kids’ like Anik who are half my age.

Or, perhaps I’ve been spoiled by my 2-hour work day which allows for plenty of exercise, nutrition breaks and rest.

Actually, the term ‘spoiled’ is incorrect.

Working less to live more was always my goal — a goal that took only a couple years to achieve with affiliate marketing — the why’s and how-to’s of which I talked about during my presentation.

That topic resonated deeply with both attendees and speakers, many of whom I spoke with afterwards.

Their comments included “you have the BEST business model“, “I’m SO tired of the rat race, that’s EXACTLY how I want to work!” and “guess I should have bought your book“.

Well, yaaaaa! :-)

After about 50 such comments, I realized that I haven’t emphasized the point strongly enough here at NPT – the issue being that you choose a lifestyle when you choose your affiliate business model.

To rectify my oversight, I’ve posted an article titled “Choose Your Affiliate Marketing Model Wisely“. It accurately describes the difference between lifestyles of a PPC search marketer and my (more relaxed) way of doing business as an affiliate.

Read it.

It could help you avoid choosing a business model that requires you to work 8, 10 or 12 hours a day just to keep up… and boy, doesn’t that sound like a J.O.B.?

Moreover, I want to hear you say the same thing that Andy Huang said to me this weekend with a BIG smile on his face…

“Your book changed my life”.

Comments like that are the reason I have kept the Super Affiliate Handbook updated for the last 4 and a half years and will continue to revise it.

Not only do I want you to succeed in business, I want you to have time to enjoy your life.

And now I’d like share some fun.

So, check out the Lightbulb Joke Contest: Win a Copy of “Insider Secrets To Marketing Your Business On The Internet”.

Too, I’ve uploaded the conference pictures for your amusement.

And last but not least, the bear still needs a name. :-)

Until next time, work smarter… not harder.

Cheers,
Ros

  1. Hi Rosalind,

It was a pleasure dining with you in Vegas at Red Square. I’ll be joining your forum and speaking more with Brad about adservers. :)

I hope to meet you again down the road.

  2. Hi Michael,

Likewise to be sure and many thanks again for the ‘lightbulb’ moment and your recommendations. I’ll be checking those out ASAP. :-)

    Cheers and best to you,
    Ros

  3. Hello Rodney,

Thanks kindly for stopping by the NPT blog.

You can drop Canada out of the “outside of the States and Canada” equation.

I live in Canada and apparently if you live outside the good ole U. S. of A. you may find that you automatically get rejected by some of the programs that you want to join.

    Reason?

    Who knows?

Most likely because some merchant hasn’t yet figured out that this is the WORLD wide web.

Having said that however, some of the best affiliates in the world live in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the U.K… so don’t worry about the downsides.

There are PLENTY of affiliate managers and merchants that DO appreciate those who are willing to work to promote their products, regardless of where in the world they live.

If not for they that ‘get it’, I’d not have been able to write my book. :-)

    Cheers,
    Ros

    Hello Rosalind

Have been to your site on several occasions and like what I see. It all seems to make sense minus the hype of many. I’m new to affiliates and online marketing but have been selling (not online) for the last 25 years. I live in Auckland New Zealand and my question is this …. is where I live viewed as a disadvantage with merchants as I’ve been told that if live outside of the States and Canada it is. I’ve asked this questions of others but most don’t seem interested unless I’m buying or signing up for one of their programmes.

    Thanks & Regards

    Rodney Dunn

  5. Hi Ros,

We loved your presentation in Vegas! Very inspiring. As a matter of fact, we are seriously considering your business model as the way to go with affiliate marketing. There is a lot to be said about your model! :)

We just purchased your book tonight. We will be busy tomorrow reading it!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    Best Regards,
    Marshall and Joli

P.S. In the photo above, you got half of Marshall. He is the second back on the extreme right hand side of the picture.

  6. Peter Rubel says:

    Hi Rosalind!

Once again, your comparison makes sense. If you have to brand yourself, you might as well develop a professional and authoritative reputation.

What is fuzzy in my thinking at present relates to a bit I read recently -uh- somewhere.

The author was arguing that Google is beginning to lose some of its “search” market share to a more fragmented search engine crowd

… and that Twitter searching is now taking the lion’s share of that Google-encroaching crowd.

If the author is right, how do you think this trend will affect search engine ranking? Or is my thinking still too fuzzy to pin point a useful question?

Probably when the next trend dust settles, your principial argument will remain applicable, but perhaps branding may need to be matched with “niche” search engine — or what?

    Regards,

    Peter Rubel
