I’ve always been really bad at naming things.
When I was a kid I had 3 dogs, a cat and a couple of fish. The dogs were named Lucky, Snoopy and Rover and the cat’s name was Morris. I called my goldfish Flipper and the ugly bug-eyed black fish never even got a name.
Ugh. I obviously had no parental guidance in the ‘imaginative naming’ department and despite the fact that my skill hasn’t improved much in subsequent years, I still persist in giving everything from trucks to trinkets a name.
But my failing becomes your opportunity.
Simply come up with another name for “Happy” (a.k.a. “Howdy”), the wood sculpture bear that graces my office (shown left) and also seen in my home office video tour.

OK, I’ll stop here!
Euripides – or Uri for short
Personally, I liked Woody, which was taken way early on by one of the multi-entries — and then I lost track whether anyone took that one.
But what do want from someone whose cats are named Bob (the black one) and Spot (the Striped one
).
Hey Fred,
A man after my own heart… my cat’s name is Vic.
But Spot for a striped cat…now that’s funny!
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Ros
How about Chaka, here in Africa, it’s a name that is revered being that of one of our heroes. That this bear graces your office speaks volume about it’s relevance.
So “master bear, I dub you chaka in the name of my fore fathers.”
Name the bear, SUNSHINE…….
He looks happy and woody so I’d call him “Larky”
If you want it more beary maybe you could say “Barky”
Or if you want to remember his happy face you could call him “Hearty”
If no one has that name in your family he could be simply “Barry”
Kammie
Why not give him an Italian name, I suggest “Giacomo”. It’s funny and there are not many ,if any, bears in this world, called “Giacomo”.
I would give him a rare name for a cute bear like him. How about the French name “Chaques”?
Here is another Italian name, “Gianni”. Italian names are very soft spoken with a melody in them and express the uniqueness of this loveable bear.
eddie bear.
Yousama. (U-zuh-muh)
It’s from the gibberish I used to speak to my infant son. I.e. “Yousama favorite” which is to sound like “yous are my”.

re: name
the only name you need for this bear is a fantasy one like
Makki
Hi Roz.
I think a good name for your bear is Hodie. He looks like he is saying howdy.
Don
He looks sot of distinguished to me
How about Woodrow?
“Bearly”.
He’s Barely a Bear.
How ’bout “B. Relevant Content, III”
or just “B-Rel” for short.
Very distinguished, yet hip, and of course –
relevant.
Hi Ros!
I have a 16 week old baby boy… So his name my FAVE … now then… heres the twist… and you gotta think about this in a baby-talk kinda way!
I have.. for some reason (need to see my doctor probably)
adopted TWO nicknames also… so here they are and also my suggestions!!!
My baby’s name is BROOKLYN
(don’t ask… I have NO idea)
Nick-name 1: BOO-BOO
Nickname 2: MR CHUBBLY-WUMPKIN
Lewis X
OOPS! just read it is one name per comment… OK Well I will go with MR CHUBBLY-WUMPKIN
Why not just “BARE” and please no last name.
He looks like one of those lucky-happy feng shui cats called “Maneko Neki”, that are supposed to bring prosperity, so I vote for calling him Maneko!
