What Type of Online Business Training Suits You Best?

We all have different learning styles, preferences and needs; and I want to deliver training that suits YOU best.

So describe for me (via the comment section below) your perfect online business training scenario, detailing both your best learning style and preferred pace.

Here are a few ‘style’ examples:

  • I prefer to read step-by-step instructions (eg. ebooks, softcover).
  • I learn best by listening (eg. audio recordings, teleseminars, one-on-one coaching calls).
  • SHOW me what to do! Video training courses (webinars) work best for me.
  • I learn best in a live event situation (eg. classroom setting, conference).
  • I want the opportunity to get answers to my questions as they arise (eg. mentoring).
  • I prefer a combination of materials, i.e. video training combined with written instructions.

Here are some examples of ‘pace’.

  • I like to set my own pace.
  • Homework assignments with scheduled deadlines make me more productive.

Simply thinking about and understanding your prefered learning style and pace will speed your progress and chances for success!

    Things I’m concerned about:

Is my domain name strong enough

    Best way to get traffic

    Writing blogs & ezines

    • Marilyn Oseen says:

Step by step lessons written in blogs, etc.

    • Hi Marilyn,

To figure out the domain name you choose is strong enough (well put, by the way) ask yourself whether YOU would be compelled to click on it from amongst a list of other names relevant to your topic. If not, then perhaps you should consider another.

I have 3 favorite ways to get traffic – free search engine traffic (which WordPress generates magnificently), article marketing and pay per click search engine advertising (fast and targeted).

  2. Pam says:

I like to read step-by-step or audio training. I’m a procrastinator, so I need deadlines.

  3. zelda zerafa says:

I learn best by means of step by step instructions and diagrams. I’m not keen on podcasts and videos as I like to be able to read at my own speed and go over something again if need be, without having to watch the whole thing over again.

  4. Amanda says:

I learn best in the classroom so this is my first self-teaching experience. I think video training courses would work best since that is the closest method to the classroom. I have used the Super Affiliate Handbook but I think some things just need to be demonstrated. Thtanks for your continuous support Ros!

  5. Monja says:

    # I prefer to read step-by-step instructions (eg. ebooks, softcover).

  6. Robert Baker says:

I learn better by videos.I have a question do you have an update version of your book Supper Affiliate Handbook

  7. Phil says:

    step-by-step demonstration
how to advertise several related affiliates (laptops from diff companies Dell, HP, SONY etc) from the same web domain/website.
How are links created onto your website and onto emails

  8. John says:

    Hi Ros,

Like Monia I prefer something portable like “PDF” prints.

My current challenge in building my Landing page is simplifying the benefits of a health product, which contains lots of complicated bio-tech names.

In other words, I’m trying to take from scientific studies something I thought I could convert into something “everyone” needs and would buy. But simplification IS a challenge!

The Biggest problem I have is Information Overload, every day I am getting new
products and Information about many things.
How do you look past all this and focus on what you really need ?.

I prefer a combination of materials, i.e. video training combined with written instructions.

I like to set my own pace.

  10. Karen Coburn says:

What I would love is a mentoring program for a few days straight full time face to face for one big flat fee!!!!

Forums are good if you already understand quite a bit but need clarification on some issues that come up.

Reading books and watching videos are good but leave you with a lot of unanswered questions and no one to turn to. Yes you can post in forums but the questions are sooo many. You need to be able to shoot the questions as you are going along and ideally get answered quickly to move on. This will make everything click alot quicker.

The mentor would need to be successful in the business and by the time you leave the program…you should have a successful campaign running and armed with other paths to expand into that brings more traffic…. more business..etc..

    Is there any such program??

  11. I prefer a combo of step-by-step written instruction, video training, and mentoring.

As far as pace, I like to set my own.

HI rOZ DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING SIMILAR TO LURN AKA AFFILIATE CLASSROOM–WHAT IS THE MOMTHLY COST??

  12. Charles says:

I like a recorded (and edited) combination of video, audio and pdf. Recorded so that I can re-play at my convenience. Edited so that distracting and/or non-useful content is removed.

I very much dislike teleseminars and webinars. Why?
    1. They require me to be at a certain place at a specific time
    2. They waste a lot of time logging in early and waiting
    3. They are ALWAYS filled with time-wasting BS and off-topic distractions
    4. They almost ALWAYS have distracting background sounds from inconsiderate participants
    5. Question/answer interviews with so-called experts. Such a waste! It’s not practical to filter out useful information from BS and retain it in any re-usable format. That means NONE OF THE USEFUL INFORMATION CAN BE PUT TO USE because I don’t have a photographic memory!

I could go on but that should give you some useful considerations.

  13. Viktors Bariss says:

I prefer to learn by doing…following step-by step instruction. Perhaps, in a classroom-style setting with access to help immediately, if needed. One-on-one coaching would be ideal.

  14. The best method of learning for me is written step by step instructions plus video.

  15. Mike Gibbons says:

Hi Rosalind, I learn best in a classroom environment where a teacher/mentor can explain to me why and what I need to do, then show me (practical demonstration) how to do it, and then coach me as I do it.

I recently joined a PPC Classroom training prgramme (every tuesday) online via using a webinar where the affiliate sent out a pre-course set on video recordings and step-by-step training modules. This is supplemented with a week webinar and then a download copy of the webinar is sent to me. There is an option for one-on-one coaching for a select few but I couldn’t afford it ontop of the other two options I purchased e.g #1 Training modules, and #2 Weekly webinar demos.

  16. I learn best by watching video and read step by step method such as ebook and other reading materials.

  17. Sylvia says:

I like to have step-by-step written instructions along with videos to follow along
with. I would also like to have a place to post questions when I am unable
to understand the problem I am having.

  18. Kris says:

    -step by step
    -self paced
-with examples (most important by far)
-no video (or at least a video with text so I can read at my pace)

    Thanks!

  19. Chris Rung says:

I prefer step by step instructions and videos are good but take too long to load
I have just finished watching the wordtracker course which was good and prefer to set my own pace.

  20. Carol Montgomery-Adams says:

For me, the way Ed Dale does his 30DC is perfect. Video plus downloadable scripts! Thanks for asking.

    Carol

  21. kevin hunter says:

i learn best with step by step audio and books, some coaching for when i get stuck,

  22. Donovan Hall says:

    Ros,
Thanks, the SAH has been a God sent, although I am still reading, I find it very intriguing, trying to understand and obsorb all the materials. Furthermore I would have like to see, where there were step-by-step written instructions for those who are interested, because I am one who likes the step by step method along with videos to follow along with. I also would like to have a place to post questions when I am unable to understand the problems that one may incur
    Thanks for asking.
    Donovan

  23. Dawn says:

    Technicolor!!!!

    and Methodical!

  24. Julia says:

The best training I have seen has videos with scripts that follow along. Generally I prefer to read because it’s faster. Wading through a 60 minute video makes me want to scream. But some things are confusing and having the video to see what confuses me on the page is a great back-up.

Having said that, I really love personal mentoring. Everyone has a specific situation and specific questions. No book or course can cover it all. The people I have known who give me detailed, personal advice for my situation are a true blessing.

Oh, and if it is impossible to speak directly with a mentor, it is nice to at least be able to email.

In terms of pace, I like a combination. I want to set my own goals, but then I like some system that holds me accountable to them.

Thank you very much. I’m interested to see what you’re cooking up with this information.

    Julia

  25. Hi Rosalind,
I prefer a combination of materials, i.e. video training combined with written instructions. mentoring,one-on-one coaching

    Thanks,
    Pastor Hall
