after reading this forum, i realised many opt for hostmonster. i've visited the website and it sure offer better package than my local webhost. do you guys make regular calls to your webhost whenever you're stuck? does the self-help in hostmonster really help? i'm afraid that i'll hv to incur overseas calls if i do host with hostmonster and i'm a newest newbie. i didnt see any sample templates in hostmonster as i browsed thru. plenty to choose from?

Hi Sarah

Most technical support is done through the online support center, unless you absolutely have to speak with someone. That is true for more web hosts for several reasons. It cuts down on the personnel required to handle the phones, allows their support team the time to research your request without having you wait on hold, and allows you to be more detailed in writing than you would be on the phone.

There is a demo login button on the host monster home page. Once logged in you are taken to the demo site builder, where you can play some, but are not able to save any changes. I saw 20 templates in the Business category, the only one they offer in the demo.

Hope that helps.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the advise and comment Smile . I tried out the online support. Its way better than sending tickets. By the time I receive the ticket replies it's already >5-8hours. Thumbs up to webhost with online chat. That is truly 24-7/365.

Hostmonster is a subsidiary of BlueHost. You should get the same thing there. Perhaps just different brand, but I heard about which HM being superior and use older servers, but that might just be rumors.
