Anyone know what the tracking ID is for? I guess some kind of tracking.
It does not explain it very well on the site
From clickbank
"You can earn 51% for each paying customer you refer to this product. For details please enter your ClickBank nickname and tracking ID (if you have one):
ClickBank NickName:
Tracking ID (Optional):" |

From ClickBank FAQ:
The format of the hoplink URL with a tracking code is located below.
http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net?tid=123456
The tracking code (which is "123456" in the example above) can be 8 characters long, containing alpha and numeric characters only. Any tracking code longer than 8 characters will be truncated. Any tracking code containing characters other than alpha or numeric values will have the entire tracking code removed from the hoplink and order process and will not show in the transaction report. Tracking codes received with upper and lower case characters will be set to all uppercase.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means that you can track where your sales are from. For eg, if your tracking id is "forum", your hoplink becomes http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net?tid=forum, and if you put this link in a forum, you will know the commissions come from the forum and not other places.
Hopes this helps you. |

Hi Guys,
Tracking is used to see where your traffic comes from (a bit over simplified).
So you can promote a CB product from several sites and use an unique trakcer id for each one of them.
The result is that you can see on the sales where the buyer came from.
Say you have 2 sites, siteA and SiteB
You promote the same product on both sites and on SiteA youu use "SITEA" and tracking id the CB hoplink from SiteB have "SITEB" as tracking id.
After a couple of weeks you can see that 9 out of 10 sales has the tracking id SITEA.
This way you can focus on the site sending most buyers. Check why it is so. Is it the ad copy, testimonials, site layout, where that site get incoming traffic and so on.
You can also decide to change the offer on SiteB as it sold badly and start testing new products there.

Yup. I totally agree with what Kenth had said. So you know where your traffic comes from, you will know where to focus your efforts. |

It's the only way I know which campaigns a given sale comes from.
