|
|
Hi, This question may be redundant but i'm trying to get my head around landing pages or direct linking URL's using PPC. Can affiliates still direct link a url using Google PPC for example and if the merchant allows it thereby avoiding landing pages etc. I realise its not best practice but can you do it and why wouldn't you?
Thanks....Grant |

| You are supposed to be able to do it if the merchant allows it. However, Adwords requires your display url and your destination url to be similar. They generally look for yourdomainname.EDIT:WORD NOT ALLOWED in both. Also remember only one merchants url will be displayed per search so if you and someone else who is promoting the same url are bidding on the same keyword and they win the bid your ad will not be displayed. I don't think this is the case with Yahoo or MSN. I have never had any luck with direct linking. You should also remember if you use framing or redirect your cookie doesn't get placed on your customer's computer. So if they don't buy today you also lose the sale. |

The other problem with direct linking is that you aren't building a list.
Bringing people to your pages and getting them to sign up for your newsletter so you can bring them back to your site over and over again is the best way to build a business and lower your advertising costs.
Has worked like a charm for me for almost 10 years. |
