How do "resell rights" work?

Hi Ros,
In your recent newsletter and blog you talk about sourcecodegoldmine. Although you were happy with the results of your review it was not very clear to me how this whole business works.

I went to the site and although it seems tempting I couldn't really figure out what I needed to do, and how would I be competing with the 499 other people who bought...

Can you give some more background on the "resale rights" business as I see people selling master, private, resell etc. all over the place and not sure what each means and how to make money from them? What kinds of people have success selling them? Have you ever rebranded and resold these things?

A followup - One of Jeremy's very strict terms is no selling on Ebay.

I came close to going for it but already found at least 2 ebay auctions of one of his products. Wasn't hard to find.

I didn't bother looking for more... has made me sceptical of the "private label" product business. He's sold most of his 500 units so maybe doesn't care anymore. I guess you have to be one of the first in and move fast.
