Hey Dave,
I don't think Ros promotes SBI.
But I DO know she promotes BlueHost.
And as for the comparison, have you seen this thread yet?:
http://netprofitstoday.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5505#5505
I don't want to be a "kill joy" if you already made a choice.
Because SBI does have it's benefits.
So take it with a grain of salt, K?
Also, Ros has a link to BlueHost on the blog's front page.

Cheers!

Oops!
Yes she DOES promote it!
If you look on this page, to the left.
You will see under the "General Topics" list,
a link called "Build Your Web Site".
Click that, and scroll down the page.
You will find her SBI link there.
However!
I still think you should look at Bluehost,
unless you have your plan firmly made.
The plan for your business is the point.
Hope it helps!

Hi Guys,
Yes, I do still promote SBI. HOWEVER (and you'll note that it is a BIG however) I think that the BEST approach to building an online business is to start with Bluehost (as Brad mentioned) and a blog.
Just take your time to learn CPanel from that point (you'd have to take time to learn SBI as well) and the Wordpress interface, which is very well covered in the Super Affiliate Handbook.
And by the way... I just LOVE when folks actually ASK for my affiliate link. How GOOD is that?
Thanks!

Hi
I have looked at the Bluehost system.
You seem to get a lot more with SBI inthe way of tools to help you build your business.
Sme of the Keyword tools save you a lot of time.I have tried this manually and it takes up a lot of you valuable time.
I know that you have to pay for this but it still seems good value for the money
Am i correct in this.
If there is something that i am missing with Bluehost.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
THanks
Dave. |

No, you're correct.
Bluehost is stricktly a hosting company.
Where as SBI is more of a complete packaged system.
Training and everything.
With Bluehost you would have to learn things elsewhere.
My thing with SBI is the cost.
Because I have no personal experience
with the community OR the training.
(except for checking it out through a friend's account)
The thing I understand, is that EACH site
costs the $200 something in regestration.
And it would probably be great for someone
that has a lot of knowlage in an area,
or even better, an existing business.
And just needs to learn to market online.
BUT, if you haven't settled on your niche,
And researched the h@ll out of it,
I worry that new marketers will become quicly frazzled
trying to "make it work".
Knowing that in order to switch niches,
it's gonna cost another big fee.
Where as with Bluehost you can have unlimited domains.
I hope for your success.
Just be sure of the business you want to develop.
Don't go in expetcting to figure that part out later.
Ya know?
Just my 2 cents, K?

Hi Dave, Brad -
Couldn't resist putting my 2 cents in...I've been working with SBI! for the past year building my site. Although there IS a lot of learning to do, they provide a heck of a lot of tools and helpful instruction, written and videos. Plus they're constantly improving.
It is a tad expensive, but when you consider the time and effort saved it's absolutely worth it I think.
Finally I like their system a lot - a slow, careful buildup of traffic and business with emphasis on over-delivering quality content to your visitor.
Good luck with making your choice and setting your business!
Cheers and regards
Suresh

Hi Suresh,
Thanks for adding your 2 cents.
That's the great thing about NPT,
we all work together.
I have an uneducated opinion when it comes to SBI.
So people with the inside scoop are appreciated.
There must be a lot of good to consider.
Lots of people seem to think so.
I just want people to go in aware,
and not make a blind choice.
Thanks for the input!

Brad makes a good point.
Paying the big bucks for EACH SBI site you build is a bit of a downside.
Especially when an Aweber autoresponder is $17.95 per month for the first 10K on your list ($9.95) after that and you can build as many different mailing lists from one account as you like.
So again, while I think SBI is a good solution for newbies who are too scared to try to learn just a little HTML to work their own blog... that blogging with a BlueHost account is the way to go.
Cheers,
Ros |

For anyone else considering SBI - this was my experience ....
I built a 150 page website using SBI. Every time I asked them if I could use this tool or that tool (one that Ros reccomends) I was told no.
SBI is very restrictive with what they allow and don't allow you to do. Since I used their servers & editors building my site, I was unable to FTP it to Bluehost when I switched over. That was November 1, and I'm still working on rebuilding the site - only so much time in the evenings. I have a lot of other things I'd rather be doing - such as build my business, not rebuilding a somewhat profitable website.
So, unless you know how to build your own website say on dreamweaver or something and then FTP it to SBI, I don't reccomend it.
Just my 2 cents ... |
