|
|
I have a website with a newsletter with about 600 subscribers, but my site cannot host a blog.
If I use DataWebPro to host my new Wordpress Blog, will I have to have a different domain name for this? If so, how will this affect how I do business?
Typically, I use SEO and articles to get traffic to my site. Understanding that blogs are a great traffic generator, I wonder if I should just focus on driving traffic to my blog instead of my website and getting subscribers from there. Also, changing my signature on my articles to point toward my blog. Now, most of my traffic will be coming to my blog instead of my website.
What's your thinking on all this?
Thanks,
Dan |

If you're having to host your blog with a different host to your main website then it is possible to to make it appear as though your blog is on the same domain e.g. let's say you've got your main website, mainwebsite.com and then you set-up a blog on a different domain (blogdomain.com), hosted by a different webhost. You could create a subdomain on mainwebsite.com that points to blogdomain.com i.e. blog.mainwebsite.com -> blogdomain.com.
Blogs can be a great traffic generator, but a blog is still just a website and it's what you do with it that counts.
Just how will your blog fit into your business? What do you hope to achieve with your blog? What will you achieve by directing traffic to your blog? |
