G'day gang
John Counsel here, founder of The Profit Clinic, from Melbourne AU.
I love forums. They're the human hub of Internet marketing and the real source of my own business success because they're where I find real relationships that are rewarding in all kinds of ways... from visitors to my network of web sites, customers for my products and services and affiliates for my A-Team program.
And, best of all, friends who share similar values and vision. "Birds of a feather", y'know?
I look forward to getting to know everyone, learning a lot and giving back in return.

Hi John!
Welcome to the forum. As CEO of The Profit Clinic, you have insight to various methods of marketing and building a business. I am looking forward to sharing ideas with you.
There are many people here that also contribute and are looking for guidance in affiliate marketing. This is a great place to be.

Thanks Jim
This is the second forum I joined today.
One of the admins of the other forum asked me if I joined to learn or to share. I explained to him that, in the couple of hours since joining, apart from making something like eight posts, I had already...
- started a new business and
- made plans for at least three new information products
... all from ideas picked up during that first visit.
I learn from everyone. I use a secret marketing tool called The Seven Hole System of Market Research that produces more ideas and insights than any other I've ever used. (I learned it from my father as a young man. He put it more succinctly... "shut up and listen!"
Your prospects buy for their reasons, not yours. So we need to know what those reasons are if we want to get the best results, I find. Otherwise, we put the cart before the horse -- then wonder why we go our backward!
Communities are all about sharing and learning. That's a two-way process. If I ever reach the stage where I get that balance wrong, it'll be time to lie down in that rut I've dug for myself and let 'em finish the job of filling it in.
Thanks for the kind welcome.
John

Hi Brad
Thanks -- I'm enjoying being here.
Mainly listening (learning!) for the most part right now, although Rosalind has just approved a guest blogging article I submitted (first of a series on affiliate marketing for beginners).
I've noticed that, like most IM-related forums, this one seems to burst into sudden life then quieten down as people get absorbed by their business activities.
That's cool... as permanent moderator of I-Sales Digest (before it was tranformed into MarketingVox blog after being bought by Andy Bourland, founder of Clickz.com) I built a reputation for kick-starting new discussions and resuscitating the dying, and I find the same strategies and tactics apply on forums.
The truth is that I don't spend a lot of time on forums due to pressure of business (consulting, training, writing and publishing), but that's about to change. I prefer to spend my time in a limited number of online communities so that I can build genuine awareness, credibility and relationships.
Should be fun once I get a good sense of this community's interests and priorities.
John
