Hi All,
My site's home page (index) is basically a splash page that links directly to my WordPress blog. I would like to integrate design elements from my home page into the blog but I'm not sure how to proceed. I went into the Theme Editor in WordPress and found the PHP source files. I'm pretty fluent in HTML but I don't want to disrupt the functionality of my blog by editing these PHP files.
For example, NetProfitsToday.com has Ros's banner on each page and a uniform feel throughout the site, which is what I'm trying to accomplish. Any tips are very much appreciated.
I noticed that there is a link for a product called "Revolution" on NetProfitsToday that enhances WordPress. Does anyone out there use this and would you recommend it?
Thank you,
Doug

Hi Doug,
I see that you are using the Classic Wordpress theme.
You can definitely play with the design elements of that theme (add a header graphic) in header.php without any worries. Just make sure you save original copies to your computer in case you make a mistake. (I've made thousands and always managed to get the blog up and running again.)
On the other hand, you can always contract out your design through Elance or RentaCoder if you are worried about messing things up... but I'd highly recommend that you try your own coding first.
Regarding the Revolution theme, Anik and I like that theme so much, that each one of our BlogClassroom coaching club students had the Revolution theme installed on their blogs.
You can see an example of how I use it at http://Roamsters.com and the NetProfitsToday.com blog is actually a highly modified version of Revolution as well.
I hope that helps!
Cheers,
Ros |

Hi Ros,
Thank you for your feedback. I'm going to dive in and give it a shot.
